Sequoia National Park, California
A successful test burn occurred today in the Sequoia National Forest on October 10th and will continue to complete prescribed burns until the 12th. Fire crews will be conducting burns North and West of Dorst Campgrounds.
A total of 187 acres will be burned which will help reduce fire fuels in areas untouched by fire and has easily grown heavy fire fuels for decades, will be thinned and cleared out.
About 55 acres have been burned out of the 187 acres so far.
There are 55 fire personnel assigned to this Prescribed Fire incident.
Fire Managers expect no adverse weather conditions.
