WA Elections Night Molds Fire Service

ELECTIONS NIGHT was an important time for all registered voters to get out and vote on November 6, 2017.  We try not to cover too many political ads, messages or other related content but when it deals with reshaping our State, we find it necessary to share as it impacts us all.

Here are preliminary results from various Counties within Washington all related to the Fire Service and who the winners were.

Fire Mergers

Skagit County Fire District Levy and bond approved.  “Merger between two fire districts”.  Failing.

Fire District 2 and the City of Kittitas approved the merger of Kittitas Volunteer Fire Department with Kittitas Valley Fire and Rescue.

Fire District 8 approved to merge with Snoqualmie Pass Fire & Rescue

Property Tax Levy/Lid Lifts

Central Whidbey Fire & Rescue Island County Fire District 1 Prop 1. Property Tax Levy Lift. ”  Passing.

King County Fire Protection District 20 Prop 1. “Levy of General Tax for Maintenance and Operations.” Approved/Passing.

King County Fire Protection District 43 Prop 1.  “Authorization Restoration of Previous Property Tax Levy Rate of $1.50 per $1,000 of Assessed Valuation.”  Approved/Passing.

North Whidbey Fire Prop 1. “Property Levy Lid Lift”.  Failing.
