KENT, Wash. – Several units at the Apex West Hill Apartments located in the 25000 block of 46th Avenue South in Kent, near Reith and Kent-Des Moines Roads were destroyed or damaged during a commercial fire that broke out  on Sunday morning.

News media states a few neighbors tried to use four fire extinguishers PRIOR to calling the Fire Department.

The fire would quickly be elevated to a 2nd alarm, bringing in resources from Kent Regional Fire Authority and Puget Sound Fire RFA.

The cause of the fire was started from the exterior of the complex then spread into the roof.  Several families were displaced by the fire.

Red Cross was requested to help with shelter needs.
