KAMLOOPS, B.C. – A wildfire broke out on Thursday, June 21, 2018 off of the Grasslands boulevard prompting immediate evacuations of about 12 homes. Evacuated residents were welcomed in to the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre where a comfort center was established.
Shortly after the evacuations were in effect, the order was lifted and all residents were allowed to return to their homes as the threat of wildfire was no longer endangering their homes or their personal safety.

Fire crews from the Kamloops Fire and Rescue along with BC Wildfire Service were working to suppress and contain the wildfire.
17 personnel along with air support are tied to this incident.
Size
The fire is said to be at 60 hectares or a little over 148 acres.
