US Wildfires Still Burn

According to the National Interagency Fire Center’s Sit Rep for the week of November 13 – 20, 2020, here are the wildfire incidents still ongoing and newly reported events.

NOTE:  This information posted in this event are for wildfire incidents from last week’s events and may have considerably changed to the date this was reported on Sunday, November 22, 2020.

NEWLY REPORTED FIRE INCIDENTS

BIG HOLLOW FIRE. Gifford Pinchot NF, WA. 24,995 acrse. 100% contained. Managed without a Type 1 or 2 IMT. 13 total personnel. 3 engines. $4.2 Million CTD. #

BLUE JAY FIRE. Yosemite NP. 6,922 acres. 100% contained. Being managed without a Type 1 or 2 IMT. No resources assigned at this time. $553,000 CTD. #

517 new fires were reported during this time period prompting light fire attack activity.

BOURBONAIS CREEK FIRE. Shawnee County. 2 miles W of Rossville, KS. Short grass. 3,000 acres. 95% contained. Minimal fire behavior. 4 total personnel. 2 engines. $80,000 CTD. #

COLEMAN FIRE. Los Padres NF, CA. 574 acres. 100% contained. 1 person assigned. $3.9 Million CTD. #

COUNTY ROAD 205 FIRE. TX A&M Forest Service. started on private land 6 miles SW of San Augustine, TX. Timber. 347 acres. 95% contained. Minimal fire behavior. 4 total personnel. Unknown CTD. #

DOLAN FIRE. Los Padres NF, CA. 124,924 acres. 98% contained. Being managed as a strategy other than full suppression without a Type 1 or 2 IMT assigned. 19 structures lost. $67.3 Million CTD. #

EL DORADO FIRE. San Bernardino Unit/CAL FIRE, CA. 22,744 acres. 100% contained. No assigned resources. 20 structures lost. $42.3 Million CTD. #

FORD RIDGE FIRE. Ozark-St. Francis NF, AZ. 185 acres. 100% contained. $25,000 CTD. #

In Southern California, there were 60 new fires reported.

HARDESTY FIRE. OKS. 858 acres. 100% contained. 4 total personnel with 2 engines. $28,000 CTD. #3

HENSLEY MOUNTAIN FIRE. OK DOF. 3 miles W of Porum, OK. Timber. 115 acres. 0% contained. Moderate fire behavior with running. Structures threatened. 18 total personnel with 8 engines. $11,000 CTD. #

HWY 62 FIRE. Oklahoma DOF. 3 miles S of Newcastle, OK. Timber, tall grass and brush. 400 acres. 80% contained. 8 total personnel. 4 engines. Minimal fire behavior with smoldering. $35,300 CTD. #

JUDE YAWN ROAD FIRE. MS Forestry Commission, MS. 440 acres. 100% contained. 6 total personnel. $88,000 CTD. #

LAURA 2 FIRE. BLM – Northern CA District. 1 mile NW of Doyle, CA. Brush and grass. 2,800 acres. 95% contained. 14 total personnel with 2 engines. 51 structures have been lost. Minimal fire behavior with smolders. All evacuation orders have been lifted. #

MIDNIGHT FIRE. Eglin AFB, FL. 747 acres. 100% contained. 11 personnel. 4 engines. $3,000 CTD. #

MOUNTAIN VIEW FIRE. BLM – Bishop Field Office. Managed by a Type 2 IMT (CA Team 11). 4 miles SE of Coleville, CA. Brush and grass. 20,879 acres. 20% contained. Minimal fire behavior with creeping and smoldering. Multiple structures and sage-grouse habitat threatened. Evacuations in effect. 313 total personnel assigned with 6 crews, 24 engines, 2 helos. 81 structures lost. $1.5 Million CTD. #

In Northern California, there were 36 new fires reported, resulting in 1 new large incident.

POISON SPRINGS FIRE. Grand mesa Uncompahgre and Gunnison NF. 105 acres. 100% contained. Maintained without a Type 1 or 2 IMT assigned. $150,000 CTD. #

RATTLESNAKE FIRE. Sequoia & Kings Canyon NP, CA. 8,074 acres. 85% contained. Managed without a Type 1 or 2 IMT assigned. 1 helicopter only. $130,000 CTD. #

RIFLE RANGE FIRE. George Washington & Jefferson NF. 1 NW of Augusta Springs, VA. Hardwood litter. 105 acres. 95% contained. 27 total personnel including 4 engines. Moderate fire behavior. $50,000 CTD. #

RIVER BEND FIRE. Oklahoma DOF. 3 miles NW of Hoyt, OK. Hardwood litter. 253 acres. 90% contained. 2 personnel assigned. 1 engine. Minimal fire behavior with smoldering. $5,000 CTD. #

THIELSEN FIRE. Umpqua NF, OR. 5,147 acres. 100% contained. $150,000 CTD. #

TUBBY BOTTOM FIRE. National Forests of Mississippi. 3 miles E of Ashland, MS. Hardwood litter. 140 acres. 80% contained. 10 personnel with one engine. Moderate fire behavior. $8,000 CTD. #

The Rocky Mountain region reported 8 new fires resulting in 2 new large incidents and 2 uncontained fires.

WALKIN FIRE. Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge, FWS. 4,13 acres. 100% contained. 19 total personnel. 1 engine. $30,000 CTD. #

WELLER YARD FIRE. VA DOF. 1 mile N of Harman Junction, VA. Hardwood litter. 300 acres. 10% contained. Active fire behavior. Structures threatened. 1 crew and 3 engines. $2,500 CTD. #

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED WILDFIRE INCIDENTS

CALWOOD FIRE. Arapaho and Roosevel NF. Pawnee National Grassland, CO. Timber. Being managed without a Type 1 or 2 IMT assigned. 10,106 acres. 100% contained. 28 structures lost. $6.3 Million CTD. #

The Southern area region reported a whopping 370 new fires with 12 new large incidents and 8 uncontained fires.

CAMERON PEAK. Arapaho and Roosevelt NF, Pawnee National Grassland. 15 miles SW of Redfeather Lakes, CO. Timber. Minimal fire behavior with smoldering. Management transitioning from a Type 2 IMT (NW Team 10) to a Type 2 IMT (SA Gold Team). 208,913 acres. 92% contained. 335 total personnel with 3 crews, 10 engines and 1 helicopter. 444 structures lost. $131 Million CTD. #

CREEK FIRE. Sierra NF. 25 miles NE of Clovis, CA. 379,895 acres. 85% contained. Timber, brush and litter. Started 9/4/2020. Unknown ignition, under investigation. Fire management transferred from a Type 1 IM2 (CA Team 10) back to the local unit occurred on Saturday. Minimal fire behavior with smoldering. 230 total personnel, 2 crews, 2 engines and 2 helicopters. 853 structures lost. $193.5 Million CTD. #

EAST FORK FIRE. Ashley NF, UT. 90,000. 100% contained.11 structures destroyed. $23.5 Million CTD. #

EAST TROUBLESOME FIRE. Medicine Bow-Routt NF, Thunder Basin National Grassland. 17 miles NE of Kremmling, CO. Timber and grass. Minimal fire behavior with smoldering. 193,812 acres. 72% contained. 19 total personnel with 1 engine. Being managed without a Type 1 or 2 IMT assigned. 580 structures lost. $15.4 Million CTD. #

The Great Basin area reported 7 new fires with 2 of those being new large incidents and 2 uncontained fires.

LESLIE GULCH FIRE. Vale District. 15 miles NW of Jordan Valley, OR. Brush and grass. 5,147 acres. 100% contained. $150,000 CTD. #

NORTH COMPLEX. Plumas NF. 1 mile SW of Crescent Mills, CA. Timber and brush. Minimal fire behavior. 318,935 acres. 98% contained. 50 total personnel along with 1 engine. 2,342 structures destroyed. $112.7 Million CTD. #

PILGRIM CREEK 1 FIRE. Bridger-Teton NF, WY. 498 acres. 85% contained. 1 person assigned. Being managed with a strategy other than full suppression without a Type 1 or 2 IMT assigned. $65,000 CTD. #

RED SALMON COMPLEX. Six Rivers NF. 14 miles NE of Willow Creek, CA. Timber. 144,698 acres. 100% contained. 2 total personnel left on this incident with 1 crew and 1 engine. $115 Million CTD. #

ROCKY ROAD FIRE. Cherokee Nation Tribe. BIA. 1 mile N of Bull Hollow, OK. Hardwood litter. 258 acres. 100% contained. 1 engine with one person as staffed resources. $20,000 CTD. #

The Northwest area region which includes States of Washington and Oregon with 1 new fire and no uncontained fires. That’s Great new for us in the Northwest!

SLATER FIRE. Klamath NF. 5 miles NE of Happy Camp, Ca. Timber and brush. Minimal fire behavior with smoldering. 157,270 acres. 95% contained. 22 total personnel. 1 crew. 440 structures lost. $57.9 Million CTD. #

SPIRIT CREEK FIRE. Dixie NF. 13 miles N of St. George, UT. Timber and brush. 125 acres. 100% contained. 4 total personnel. $100,000 CTD. #

SQF COMPLEX. Sequoia NF, CA. 25 miles N of Kernville and 33 miles E of Porterville, CA. Lightning-caused. Timber and chaparral. Command transferred from a Type 2 IMT (CA Team 13) back to the local unit on 11/14/2020. Minimal fire behavior. 174,178 acres. 90% contained. 103 total personnel. 1 crew, 2 engines, 3 helicopters. 228 structures lost. $120 Million CTD. #

THOMPSON RUN FIRE. Osage Agency. BIA. 7 miles W of Hominy, OK. Hardwood litter and tall grass. 801 acres. 95% contained. 6 total personnel. 1 engine. $5,000 CTD. #

TUBBY BOTTOM FIRE. National Forests of Mississippi. 3 miles E of Ashland, MS. Hardwood litter. 140 acres. 80% contained. 10 personnel with one engine. Moderate fire behavior. $8,000 CTD. #

WOLF FIRE. Yosemite NP, CA. 2,057 acres. 100% contained. Managed without a Type 1 or 2 IMT assigned. No resources assigned. $185,000 CTD. #

Nationally speaking, there are only 4 fire incidents that are being managed under a strategy other than full suppression.
