SUMMARY — The S-503 FIRE is located on the north end of the Warm Springs Reservation about three miles east of Highway 26; two miles north of Quartz Butte and 10 miles north of Simnasho, Oregon.

CAUSE — The cause is unknown and under investigation.

STARTED — The fire started on Friday, June 18th around 1800 hours PT.

SIZE UP — Fire behavior is reported as moderate with spotting. 4,300 acres of brush and grass. There is a 0% containment status.

CURRENT STATUS — Firefighters worked throughout the night. The S-503 FIRE is moving to the southeast currently. The perimeter is changing rapidly. More resources are arriving and helping with fighting this fire. A structure protection group is in place.

COMMAND — IC Shawn Jaca, ICT Cason McCain.

LEVEL 3 EVACUATIONS ARE IN EFFECT — Small portion of Kelley Springs Rd to the northeast of the fire.

LEVEL 2 EVACUATIONS ARE IN EFFECT — EAST of Kelly Springs to Reservation Rd including Walters Corners and the community of Pine Grove.

RESOURCES — CTWS Fire Management (Lead Agency). 300 firefighters assigned along with dozers, engines, water tenders; One AA with three planes and two copters.

INCIDENT COOPERATORS — CTWS – Fire Management, BIA, Wasco County SO, ORSFMO.

RESTRICTIONS — Temporary Flight Restriction or also known as a TFR. No drones or aircraft over the fire line.
