The MONUMENT FIRE is located one mile southwest of Del Loma in Panther Creek and Eagle Rock, west of Big Bear, California on Shasta-Trinity National Forest lands.

About 52,987 acres of timber and brush are burning. There is a three-percent containment status.

The fire started on August 8, 2021, at 1810 hours PT from an unknown cause.

Several communities and infrastructure are threatened.

Evacuations are in effect. 52,987 acres. 3% contained.

There are 684 personnel. 7 crew, 70 engines, and 5 copters. 26 structures lost.

About $7.3 Million in cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment efforts have been reached.
