UPDATE 1 — November 16, 2021 — 2020 hours PT
INCIDENT SUMMARY
A single-engine air tanker also known as a SEAT has crashed this evening while fighting the KRUGER ROCK FIRE, that began earlier this morning from an unknown cause. The SEAT Air Tractor T-860 crashed by Estes Park on Homestead Meadows Trailhead. This was said to be the location where it was last seen.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE
The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies were in the area, where the crash was witnessed by several onlookers and were looking for the wreckage.

FIRE OPERATIONS
The KRUGER ROCK FIRE is about 133 acres and 15% contained. Fire crews were due to continue operations throughout the night. The fire was reported today just before 0700 hours near Little Valley Road and Fish Creek Road. At 0800 hours, the fire had scorched 20 acres.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time is under investigation.
The Rocky National Park Service and the USFS are in Unified Command. The Joint-Information-Center or also known as the JIC, will reopen on Wednesday at 0800 hours. The fire line is 970-980-2500.

About 150 personnel are assigned to this wildfire incident.
