The CEDAR CREEK FIRE is located in incredibly steep, inaccessible terrain about three miles west of Waldo Lake, north of Highway 58, and 12 miles east of the community of Oakridge the Willamette National Forest. The fire was sparked by lightning on August 1, 2022.
This is Incident #OR-WIF-220180 and is being managed by a Type 3 ICT. The PNW Team 2 was briefed yesterday.
Fire behavior has been observed as moderate with spotting, group torching, and flanking.
Structures are being threatened.
Area, road, and trail closures are in effect.
There have been 830 total acres of timber have been burned and a 0% containment status.
There are about 72 total personnel along with two crews, one engine, and four copters.
The total cost-to-date as of today is $500,000.
