Here is a condensed version of these wildfires which are located in both Oregon and Washington States for Saturday, August 6, 2022.

BEECH CREEK FIRE | 9 miles S of Long Creek, Oregon

Malheur NF, USFS. Nine miles south of Long Creek, OR. Timber and grass. Moderate fire behavior with creeping, backing, and isolated torching. Structures threatened. Reduction in acreage due to more accurate mapping. 155 acres. 37% contained. 238 total personnel with 6 crews, 13 engines, and one copter. $914,000 CTD.

CEDAR CREEK FIRE | 15 miles E of Oakridge, Oregon

Willamette NF, USFS. IMT 1 (PNW Team 2). Fifteen miles east of Oakridge, OR. Timber. Active fire behavior with group torching, spotting and flanking. Structures threatened. Area, road, and trail closures are in effect. 1,200 acres. 0% contained. 111 total personnel with 3 crews, one engine, and 5 copters. 0 structures were lost. $200,000 CTD.

COW CANYON FIRE | 11 miles N of Naches, Washington

Southeast Region, Washington DNR. Eleven miles north of Naches, WA. Timber and brush. Fire started on 8/3/2022. Active fire behavior with short crown runs group torching and short-range spotting. Structures threatened. Evacuations, area, road, and trail closures are in effect. Reduction in acreage due to more accurate mapping. 4,009 acres. 15% contained. 148 personnel. 6 crews, 6 engines, and 1 copter. 4 structures were lost. $800,00 CTD.

GRIFFIN FIRE | 36 miles NE of Burns, Oregon

Burns District, BLM. Thirty-six miles northeast of Burns, OR. Brush, tall grass, and timber. Active fire
behavior. Precipitation occurred over the fire area yesterday. 850 acres. 0% contained. 138 total personnel. 2 crews, 12 engines, and 3 copters. $1.8 Million CTD.

MILLER ROAD FIRE | 8 miles W of Maupin, Oregon

The Dalles Unit, Oregon DOF. IMT 2 (NW Team 8). Eight miles west of Maupin, OR. Short grass, brush, and timber. Moderate fire behavior with backing, creeping, and smoldering. Numerous structures and energy infrastructure are threatened. Evacuations have been lifted. Reduction in acreage due to more accurate mapping. 11,156 acres. 42% contained. 420 total personnel. 8 crews and 38 engines. 1 structure was lost. $2.8 Million CTD.

POTTER FIRE | 46 miles SW of La Pine, Oregon

Willamette NF, USFS. Forty-six miles southwest of La Pine, OR. Closed timber litter, timber, and medium slash. Moderate fire behavior with wind-driven runs, torching, and spotting. Area, road, and trail
closures are in effect. 149 acres. 0% contained. 112 total personnel. 3 crews and 7 engines. $575,000 CTD.

RIPARIA FIRE | 22 miles N of Dayton, Washington

Cause unknown. The fire started on an unknown date. 5,000 acres. 0% containment. Grass Fire. Moderate fire behavior. Evacuations are in effect. State mobe approved.

VANTAGE HIGHWAY FIRE | 5 miles W of Vantage, Washington

Southeast Region, Washington DNR. IMT 2 (NW Team 12). IMT is also managing the Cow Canyon Fire. Five miles west of Vantage, WA. The fire started on 8/1/2022. Burning in grass and brush. Moderate fire behavior with backing, flanking, and creeping. Structures and energy infrastructure are threatened. Area closures are in effect. 30,021 acres. 45% contained. 341 total personnel. 10 crews and 10 engines. 4 structures were destroyed. $2.6 Million CTD.

WILLIAMS LAKE FIRE | 12 miles S of Cheney, Washington

Northeast Region, Washington DNR. Twelve miles south of Cheney, WA. Timber and tall grass. Active fire behavior with long-range spotting, wind-driven runs, and flanking. Numerous residences
threatened. Evacuations and road closures are in effect. 1,662 acres. 10% contained. 288 total personnel. 4 crews and 49 engines. $808,000 CTD.

WINDIGO FIRE | 22 miles SW of La Pine, Oregon

Umpqua NF, USFS. IMT 2 (NW Team 6). IMT is also managing the Potter fire. Ignited on 7/30/2022 from lightning. Twenty miles southwest of La Pine, OR. Closed timber litter, timber, and medium slash. Moderate fire behavior with wind-driven runs, torching, and spotting. Area, road, and trail closures are in effect. Reduction in acreage due to more accurate mapping. 1,072 acres. 5% contained. 316 total personnel 3 crews, 13 engines and 6 copters. $1.8 Million CTD.
