The CEDAR CREEK FIRE is located 15 miles east of Oakridge and three miles west of Waldo Lake in Oregon, on the Willamette National Forest which ignited on August 1, 2022.

A lightning storm passed over the area and caused about 20-30 new wildfires, which are burning in extremely steep and inaccessible terrain.

A Type 1 IMT assumed command of the fire on August 5, 2022, at 2000 hours PT.

About 3,772 total acres of timber have been burned.

At this current time, there are a total of 520 fire personnel with Incident Commander Mike Minton, PNW2 at the helm.
