The Douglas Creek Fire is located about 10 miles southeast of Imnaha and 25 miles east of Enterprise, Oregon, which was sparked by lightning on August 30th in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest.
It has currently burned 3,843 acres of timber and short grass and has a 0% containment status.
Active fire behavior has been observed.
Evacuations are in effect for:
Level 3, “Go Now” evacuation for the Hat Point and Freezeout Roads. The Hat Point Road is also closed due to the fire activity.
· Level 2, “Get Set” for the Imnaha River Road, from Rippleton Creek to the Imnaha Grange.
· Level 1, “Be Ready” for the Imnaha River Road, from the town of Imnaha to Rippleton Creek.
· Level 1, “Be Ready” for the Imnaha River Road, from the Imnaha Grange to the Pallette Ranch including Imnaha River Woods.
Road/trail closures are in effect.
Transfer of Command occurred today at 0600 hours PT.
There is about 192 total personnel assigned to this incident.
