With rolling blackouts through the State of Washington, due to all-time record heat and low relative humidity, wildfires are prime to be igniting every opportunity it presents itself and this one is the newest incdent on the block.
The fire is located on the American River Road near the Oxbow Reservoir on the Tahoe National Forest lands.
Firefighters and resources from the CAL FIRE Nevada-Yuba-Placer Unit are assisting the Tahoe National Forest personnel on a wildfire near Oxbow Reservoir.
This is the MOSQUITO FIRE formerly the VOLCANO FIRE.
As of 2014 hours PT, the fire was estimated between five-to-six acres in very steep, inaccessible terrain and appeared to have extreme fire behavior with a high rate of spread.
