The BOLT CREEK FIRE was started by a human. The exact cause has not been released as of yet. It is still being investigated by Fire Officials.
It is burning about 1.5 miles from Skykomish in Washington State, which was detected on Saturday, September 10th around 0515 hours PT.
The fire has burned about 12,142 acres of timber, closed and hardwood litter, and has a 28% containment status.
Fire behavior remains moderate with flanking, backing, and creeping.
There are about 149 total fire personnel, which include Two Type 2 IA hand crews, two hand crews, one copter, 15 engines, one dozer, and one water tender. Assisting with fire management are 66 overhead team members.
US 2 has reopened and all evacuation orders have been lifted, but Beckler Road remains closed due to crews working in this area.
According to Fire Officials, their next planned actions will have Operations continue along US Highway 2 corridor from Halford to Skykomish to limit fire impacts to communities, private property, critical power, and transportation infrastructure, and ensure the fire remains north of US Highway 2, but fire will continue to grow.
Operations will continue to monitor the fire perimeter, particularly in the vicinity of affected communities, and implement containment along the western edge of the fire in the vicinity the Index-Galena Road and on the eastern edge of the fire along Beckler Creek Road north of Skykomish.
