WA DNR resources E8141 Patton Pedersen were dispatched on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 1619 hours PT, and the fire was listed as five acres of grass/shrubs and timber understory.

Local Fire Departments included PFCD#23, Graham Fire & Rescue, South Pierce Fire and Rescue, and other agencies were first dispatched to the initial fire and would later become Unified Command with WA DNR fire officials.

Over an hour after WA DNR fire resources after they were dispatched, the fire had burned five additional acres to bring the total to ten.

At 0130 hours PT, most of the county fire crews were released earlier this morning leaving one chief and one tender remaining on the scene along with WA DNR firefighters who are now the lead fire agency. They are now completely in command of the fire.

Units had been pulled from the fireline due to an increased wind fire behavior earlier this AM but have since re-engaged later in the morning.
