SIT REP 2: Monday, August 21, 2023, 1900 hours PDT

Incident Summary

A wildfire ignited from an unknown cause, which started on Friday, August 19, 2023, 12 miles up the Suiattle-River Road in Darrington (Snohomish County), Washington State. This was a human-caused wildfire. The exact ignition is unknown at this time but is under investigation.

Current Status

The fire has burned approximately 130 acres of timber, brush, and grass. Crews have reached a 0% containment status. Fire behavior is active with backing, flanking, and torching. Evacuations are in effect. Closures are in place.

A Level 1 evacuation notice (Get Ready) remains in place for the few residences in Skagit County near Mile Marker 10 on the Suiattle River Road. Additional information on evacuation notifications may be obtained by calling the Skagit County non-emergency line at 360-428-3211.
