We are sharing a little iconic American culture, Throwback Thursday. For those who don’t know, Throwback Thursday is a fun celebration, where we get to share some old iconic photos of days gone by.
One of our favorite pastimes was driving from the Seattle (Washington) area over to the eastern part of the state to Ellensburg (Kittitas County) to hang out at the airport and patiently wait for fire suppression aircraft to fly in and/or out.
Since, moving to Skagit County (near the Canadian border), we have found another DNR helicopter (ROTOR) stationed out of the Big Lake area which is located at a local fire station near our residence.
Score!
This Rotor was observed sitting on the tarmac ready to go at a moment’s notice but in June of 2018 at WA DNR’s Bowers Field in Ellensburg, Washington, which is generally a small aircraft but a busy airport when there are nearby wildfires.
This is our share for this #ThrowbackThursday We hope you enjoy it!
Stay safe friends, wherever your path may take you.
