BELLEVUE, WASHINGTON – Waves of crime seem to be sweeping Washington State’s fifth-largest city which is growing super fast. It takes the seat behind Seattle (King County), Spokane (Spokane County), Tacoma (Pierce County), and Vancouver (Clark County), Washington State. Some of these other big Cities also have seen their fair share of crime increasing this year.

Today, there is an approximate population of 153,900 residents as of the 2022 stats for the City of Bellevue alone. With this comes more crime and it appears it has just seen its first 2023 Officer Involved Shooting or known as OIS for short.

More recently, the City has seen its been a victim to carjackings, and violent smash and grabs. We are thankful we moved from this City after becoming victims of being robbed of our own home. It is so personal knowing it could have become much worse than it truly was. This was the last straw for us to move away from after a long life of almost 20 years.

On Monday night, there was a shooting outside of the LA Fitness Club in the parking lot of the Kelsey Creek Shopping Center in the 14900 block of Main Street. This is a high-volume area, where many small businesses grace the main thoroughfare (148th Avenue) and residential communities behind the Fitness club. Additionally, this has been a high crime area, where we have personally seen members’ vehicle windows smashed in and reported to the Club.

Police are releasing preliminary information on how an on-duty Bellevue Police Offer was involved in deadly force in the parking of the LA Fitness Club, killing a person. No other bystanders or Officers were injured. As in these types of cases, The King County Independent Force Investigation Team (KC IFIT) has been called out to investigate this incident. All further release of information will be provided by an IFIT PIO, once assigned.

We don’t know the situation behind the shooting and the deadly force incident, but we know information will soon be revealed.

Please stay safe out there, friends.
