SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA — Firefighters and their HAZMAT unit with the San Diego Fire Department were dispatched to a Multi Medical Casualty Incident at 1801 hours this evening to the local YMCA. 

Twelve kids and one adult were evaluated in the pool of the YMCA located in the 5500 block of Friars due to feeling ill.

The kids and one adult were extricated from the pool and assed by Medics.

A total of six patients were transported to a nearby hospital, where they were considered to have “minor” injuries according to a Fire Department official.

All units cleared the scene as of two hours ago.

The cause was stated due to chlorine was released. We are unsure if it was released in the pool or in the air above the pool.
