ARIZONA – About two hours ago, fire crews with the U.S. Forest Service / Tonto National Forest were dispatched and responding to a wildfire off of North Horseshoe Dam Road in the Cave Creek Ranger District. This is in the Horseshoe Lake area, about 27 miles ESE of Black Canyon City in Arizona and about 25 miles NE of Mesa.
Evacuations were said to be taking place with those who were in campsites around the fire area.
Resources Responding: One VLAT, one LAT1, one FWAA, one FWLP, one HE3S, two CRW1, two ENG3, one ENG6 (Engine, type 6), and one water tender.
The fire has burned 100-plus acres. The containment status is unknown at this time.

Sugar Fire
Meanwhile, the Sugar Fire continues to burn on the Tonto National Forest which is now 30% contained. Fire crews are busy trying to contain the fire with the aid of four engines, two IHCs, and a single helicopter.
