SIT REP 2: Sunday, June 9, 2024, 1800 hours PDT

Firefighters with the CAL Fire-Santa Clara and Contra Costa County Fire Protection District were dispatched to a fast-moving wildfire burning on John Henry Johnson Parkway and Ripple Rouge Road in Pittsburg (Contra Costa County), California this afternoon.
The wildfire was determined to have started on June 9, 2024, around 1714 hours PDT, and multiple sources are reporting the fire behavior to be moving at a high rate of spread and appears to be wind-driven, as high winds push the fire and creating large columns of heavy black smoke.
The fire has burned approximately 53 acres and has a 0% containment status.

CAL Fire/Santa Clara and the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District are in Unified Command. There are about 30 total personnel along with eight (8) engines, two (2) water tenders, one (1) copter, and two (2) dozers assigned to this incident.
The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
There have not been any firefighter or civilian casualties reported.
