Published Sunday, June 9, 2024, 1620 hours PDT

Discarded smoking materials caused a fire in a wall/floor of the maintenance room inside of a motel in the 3200 block of Queen City Drive in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sunday.

Charlotte Firefighters responded quickly egressed on the fire and put it out within 10 minutes.

There were no injuries to civilians or to firefighters.

No occupants were displaced from the fire.

According to the fire investigation, the estimated content and property damage were listed at a loss of $2,000.00.
