At approximately 1228 Hours this morning, a fire broke out in the Queen Anne area on 3rd Avenue N and Ward Street.  Seattle Fire dispatched a “full response”  with Aid 2, Battalions 4 & 7, Engines 20, 41 and 8.  Around 12:35 Hours Engine 9, Ladders 1 & 6, Medic 10, Air 9, Battalion 6, Deputy 1, Safety 2 and Staff 10 were staffed up.

Flames and heavy smoke were reported by firefighters and witnesses arriving on scene of a fully engulfed house.  The home was red flagged on Seattle’s uninhabitable residences and was reported as being an abandoned house.  It sat up against a very steep hill in one of Queen Anne’s affluent neighborhoods.

Two additional engines 10 & 6 were deployed at 1247 Hours quickly responding on scene.

Marshal 5 (Fire Investigation team) and Seattle Fire’s PIO were called at 0102 Hours.

The Seattle Fire Buffs arrived in addition to provide REHAB for Firefighters and fire ground personnel.  REHAB Support Members –  Lee Kane (Support 4), Eric Swenson (Support 5) and John Odegard (Support 8 – Fire Photographer) were all on scene.

Engine 21 was dispatched at 0253 Hours for fire watch, with Engine 8 at 0737 Hours and finally with Ladder 6 at 1007 Hours.

No injuries were reported.  Cause and Estimated Fire Damage is unknown at this time.
