Bloxom VFD Rescue Lieutenant, Chaplain and Northampton County Dept. of EMS Paramedic David R. Chew Jr. died in the Line of Duty in that single engine company crash this morning around 1130 hours. The crash occurred on Nelsonia Road west of Route 13. He is also listed as the EMS Lt. for the Department. Lt. Chew was responding to an accident in a Bloxom VFD engine when the crash occurred. One other Firefighter was transported to the hospital with NLT injuries.

Lt. Chew, 30, was married and the father of a 3 year old son. He was the brand new pastor of Hallwood United Methodist Church. More to follow.
