We have received great news that a local Hero has received a very prestigious award by a well-renown and respected organization here in Washington.

Give a round of applause to Shoreline Firefighter/Paramedic & Medical Services Officer, John Nankervis whom was voted to receive the Spirit of Team Award of 2012 by the Medic One Foundation organization.

How does one qualify for such a great honor?   Well, first you have to be a graduate of the UW/Harborview Paramedic Training Program.  So many of you here in Washington State know that it’s a major ac-complishment in itself with many hours of studying, practicals and proving yourself to the world that you can do it.   

This Award is given annually to one Medic who best models the personal behavior consistent with the expectations of the public and profession whom have shown these qualities:  *Integrity, *Teamwork, *Compassion & Empathy, *Motivation & Commitment, *Diplomacy & Tact, *Confidence, *Open-mindness & *Being Conscientious.

Officially, Firefighter/Paramedic & MSO John Nankervis will be presented this amazing Award at the September 19, 2012, Mariners Game vs. the Orioles here at home. What a great honor and very well-deserved Award!  Congratulations!

Past Award Recipients have been: 2011 Bellevue Medic Phil Pierson, 2010 Seattle Medic Carrie Oliver, 2009 King County Medic Sylvia Feder and 2008 Seattle Medic Brian Chinn.

We Thank Each and Every One of YOU in this Profession.   Remember, though some people may not say thank you, let it be known that they are deeply grateful for your Care & Compassion and that you are making a difference in people’s lives every day!
