August 28—Seattle Fire Investigators are still investigating the cause of a fire at an abandoned home Monday night in South Park. The cause is currently undetermined pending further investigation.

 

At 4:26 p.m. Seattle Firefighters were called to the 300 block of South Trenton Street for reports of an abandoned home on fire. The first arriving engine company found a well involved two story home with fire extending to the roof. The fire moved from the back exterior of the home up into the interior and into the attic. It took nearly an hour to extinguish the fire.

No one was in the home at the time of the fire. There were no injuries.

The Seattle Police Department Arson Bomb Squad was called to the scene to conduct an investigation. Both the SFD and the SPD are working together on this investigation.

The estimated dollar loss is $50,000.
