CAMPBELL FIRE

Location: Ishi Wilderness. North of Campbellville, CA.
Acreage Burned: 772.
Fire Status: Hand crews and air resources are working to contain a wildfire that remains within the Ishi Wilderness Area on the Lassen National Forest north of Campbellville in Tehama County.
On the east and west ends of the fire crews have finished handline construction down to Deer Creek. Crews are continuing mop up operations on the east west and south sides of the fire.

On the north side the fire continues to slowly back downhill into the Deer Creek drainage. With low flame length and slow rates of spread crews are allowing the fire to burn down to the creek bottom and burn it’s self out.
Acres Burned / Containment Status: The Campbell Fire is approximately 745 acres and is 80% contained. January 10, 2013, approximate containment date.
Personnel: 306 on scene.
Weather Conditions: Have improved with less wind lower temperatures and higher humidities.
Command of this fire will be turned back over to the Lassen N.F. at 6:00 am on 01/09/14. A number of crews will be released over the next couple of days. Several hand crews and helicopters will remain assigned to the fire until it is fully contained. Containment is anticipated on Friday January 10.
Tte fire remains more than two miles from Campbellville no structures are threated.
Original Start Date: The Campbell Fire was first reported at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Thursday January 2 2014. The cause of the fire is unknown.
Fire Behavior: Smoldering and creeping.
