Western Washington | Temps hit an all-time hightoday reaching an all-time high of 80’s. We think Mother Nature finally got the hint that it is infact Spring and keeping Old Man Winter in the mountains where he belongs. That’s what the skiiers are saying anyway.
When temps are this high with a little humidity added, it can be exhausting to one’s health – especially the older and more to vulnerable populations. No matter if you are working or playing under the sun, it is vital to remember a few great tips:
1] Always keep hydrated. Great fluids to chug down are always water, gatorade [this is more for those who are athletes, exerting a lot of energy], clear fluids.
2] Skin protection is key when it comes to being out under the sun’s damaging rays and to help prevent future skin cancer.
3] Remember to seek shade to cool down and rehydrate. We can’t say this enough to keeping from being overheated.
4] Wearing sunglasses will help protect your eyes cut down the sun’s overwhelming glare.
Well, the last and final thing is to go out there and get some of that Vitamin D that’s waiting for you. The weather forecaster here is predicting that this will only last a short while this week. We are expecting more Seattle scattered showers to return this weekend.
Thanks for hanging out with us and we gotta go! The sun is calling out our name and yours too! Don’t forget to hydrate, cover up and wear your cool shades.
