A wildfire has broken out in the Plumas Natonal Forest in California, near Ward Creek and 10 air-miles Southeast of Taylorsville, California. There is also a spot fire burning on the East side next to the main fire.

The Plumas National Forest agency says there is no current threat to life, safety or health. The fire originally burning on private land spread into the National Forest after brisk winds during Monday afternoon and early evening caused 195 acres to become scortched.
There are currently 158 firefighters on scene. No injuries, threatened structures or current threat to Life, Safety and Health are being reported at this time.
The cause is not known and is under investigation.
A 40% containment has been accomplished.
