Dume Fire in Malibu, California is Now Out

Malibu, California | Two spot fires broke out one mile from each other, one possibly due to a car crash involving a Prius vehicle on Karman Road and the other on Muholand in the Malibu area.

The fire on Muholand caused Kanan to close Muholland to PCH.

Between the two fires, the total scorched earth was only five acres.  LA County Firefighters along with Ventura County Firefighters made sure they had the resources in place immediately to tend to both wildfires.  A total of 220 firefighters were reportedly on scene.

No injuries were reported.

At one time, they requested air support and received several Firehawk helicopters ready to protect structures at a moment’s notice but were not deployed as firefighters gained control over the fires.

Both fires were stated they were out completely at 1745 hours PDT.

No cause has been officially stated for either fire but reports have shown photos where it appears a vehicle hit a pole causing extensive fire dangers to its surrounding areas.
