#TemeculaFire Burning Near Border Patrol – June 4, 2016 PM

Incident Summary

A wildfire broke out on June 4, 2016, around 1140 hours PDT on Southbound I-15, South of the #Temecula Parkway  prompting hundreds of resources to pour into the area.

At 1245, the fire had been reported on the shoulder of the freeway had spread to 30 acres from its initial report just 5 minutes earlier.

Command

Fire Managers from CAL Fire – Riverside County Fire Department are managing this fire from the ground and air.

Personnel

A total of 201 Firefighters from CAL Fire Riverside & San Diego and Pechanga FD are attached to this incident.

Currently, assigned to this fire are the following:

  • 1 Hellitender
  • 1 Helicopter

There are no structures being threatened at this time.

I-15 is currently closed in the area.  Traffic is now backing up to Southbound 215 Freeway.
