INCIDENT SUMMARY
Approximately two (2) hours ago, the U.S. Coast Guard 47288 boat was headed South in 14-15′ seas and 40-50 knots to assist a sailboat in distress and taking on water w/ 3 people aboard 45 miles NW of Grays Harbor, Washington State.
Additionally, en route are additional resources such as a 47′ boat from Station Grays Harbor. A helicopter from Air Station Astoria is has been on-scene and keeping the sailboat company until the rescue boats arrive.
SUPPORT TEAMS
Service members at the U.S. Coast Guard Station Quillayute River Station are supporting the mission with chart plotting, phone calls, and a second boat!
CURRENT STATUS
Crews are on-scene with the vessel in distress outside of Grays Harbor. Flooding secured. Assessing safety of crew and vessel integrity. This was as of 2000 hours PDT.
