EAST FORK WILDFIRE | 15 miles NE of Soldotna

Incident Summary

The East Fork Wildfire was ignited by lightning on June 15, 2017, around 1825 hours.  It is burning on the Kenai Wildlife Refuge and at the East Fork of Moose River of a limited suppression area.

Fire Fuels

Fire fuels include black spruce and hardwoods.

Size Up

The fire has scorched 1016 acres as of June 23, 2017, but fire behavior is considered to be minimal and smoldering.  Though there has been no rain over the fire, it has been cool positive RH.
