MARIN COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
A WILDFIRE called the Spaletta Fire is named after a local nearby ranch in the Red Hill area is burning about 5 miles South of downtown Petaluma and 7 miles NW of downtown Novato in Marin County, California.
The wildfire started around 1700 hours on Wednesday, July 12th, from an unknown cause has consumed around 25 acres and reached an 80% containment status.
90 Firefighters from CAL Fire, Marin County Fire and Sky Walker Ranch fire were quickly on-scene along with 6 engines, 3 crews, airtankers and 2 helicopters. The tanker filled up/dropped retardant on to the fire, while the helos drew water from a local ranch pond.
Winds were clocked in at 7 mph from the NW around 1715 hours PDT.
There were no threats to structures including homes and residents themselves. And, no evacuations were conducted.
Fire crews will remain on the fire line putting out hot spots for the next few hours. All other resources have been released.
