A small fire broke out in the area of Oregon Trailhead Rd. SW and Prather Rd. SW on Friday, August 25, 2017 this afternoon in Rochester, Washington State. Here is the timeline of the fire.
1647: 911 call received.
1647: West Thurston Regional Fire Authority (WTRFA) firefighters are dispatched to the area of Oregon Trail Rd. SW and Prather Rd. SW as an electrical/transformer fire.
1715: DNR dispatches wildland fire crews and two (2) helicopters to assist local fire Agencies with fire suppression and containment.
1857: PSE enters the area to take down one of their power lines. Fire crews continue with fire suppression efforts and by sending a dozer to assist with a fire break.
1910: Fire is now contained. Fire initially reported as five (5) acres is reduced to 2.24 acres. Smoke is said to remain heavy in the area. Only report to 911 if you see flames, do not call about smoke calls. Fire crews will monitor and remain on fire watch throughout the night.
