FINAL UPDATE | Washington State Wildfire | John Belmont Fire

VALLEYFORD, Washington —

UPDATE 3 – FINAL UPDATE – 7/21/2018 – 2200 PDT – Fire is now 100% contained.  Forward rate of spread has been stopped.

Fire crews will be working throughout the night to address hot spots and implement mop-up operations.

Evacuations in Mica are still in effect.  The shelter will still remain open at the Bowdish Middle School located at 2109 S Skipworth Road.

UPDATE 2 – 7/21/2018 – 2130 PDT – Fire has now scorched 40 acres and crews have almost placed the line around it.

Both air resources and ground crews have made an impeccable progress today.

Air resources include two fire bosses and one helicopter.

Level 3 evacuations occurred at 1851 hours in the following areas:

  • Belmont / Chapman
  • North to Chapman / Linke
  • East across Linke to Saltese Lake Extension Road
  • South on Saltese Lake Extension
  • West to Belmont

Both SCFD8 and DNR firefighters were tasked with structure protection of buildings on Belmont Road.

UPDATE 1 – JULY 21, 2018 – 1430 PDT – A wildfire is burning near Valleyford in Spokane County, Washington. The fire is approximately 20-30 acres in size.

Per CAD Activity, the following were dispatched at 1616 hours :  AA 444TS AR 28 AR 29 (IC) AR 414 AR 440 AR 445 AR 446 BC 52 BLM 11 FB 202 FB 206 HT 41 HT 42 LOA 34.  Dispatch (NE WA Interagency Comm Center) reported all resources were on-scene at 1650 hours PDT.

DNR stated at 1740 hours PDT, additional resources included two inmate crews, three DNR engines, two fire bosses and one helicopter.
