SUMMARY — A wildfire called the SLATE FIRE is burning about 23 miles northwest of Flagstaff, along Highway 180 in the State of Arizona that originated on State Mountain. The fire was called in by a Coconino County Sheriff’s Deputy on June 7, 2021, around 0300 hours MST.

CAUSE — The cause of the wildfire is unknown and under investigation.

CURRENT STATUS — Minimal fire behavior with smoldering. 11,435 acres of chaparral and timber. 85% contained. There are no structures or communities under direct threat. No evacuations are in effect.

RESOURCES — 44 personnel with two crews, three engines.

COOPERATORS — Coconino National Forest, CCSO, CCEM and the AZ DOT.

COST-TO-DATE — $1.9 Million Dollars.
