SUMMARY — The S-503 FIRE is located on the north end of the Warm Springs Reservation about three miles east of Highway 26; two miles north of Quartz Butte and 10 miles north of Simnasho, Oregon.

Fire is burning on the Confederate Tribe l ands and privately owned lands protected by the Oregon Department of Forestry.

According to the NIFC reporting today at 0600, Fire Managers reported eight new wildfires with two of them still not contained — #S503Fire and the #CutoffFire. – NIFC

Two new spot fires at S-560 and S-570 roads are Fire Officials’ primary focus.

STARTED — The fire started on Friday, June 18th around 1800 hours PT.

Cause is still undetermined and under investigation.

SIZE UP — Fire is currently 6,201 acres. 10% contained.

RESOURCES — 2 – type 1 hotshot crews,5-type 2 initial attack crews, 1-heavy helicopter, 1-light helicopter,16-engines, 4-dozers, 5-water tender, and 53 overhead.

251 total personnel assigned to this incident.

RESOURCES — CTWS Fire Management (Lead Agency). 300 firefighters assigned along with dozers, engines, water tenders; One AA with three planes and two copters.

INCIDENT COOPERATORS — CTWS – Fire Management, BIA, Wasco County SO, ORSFMO.

RESTRICTIONS — Temporary Flight Restriction or also known as a TFR. No drones or aircraft over the fire line.
