PM UPDATE — JULY 9, 2021 — 2015 PT

A wildfire is burning on the USFS lands in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest which is being managed by the Northern Rockies Team 2, a Type 1 IMT. They are also managing a second nearby wildfire named the JUMBO FIRE.

DIXIE FIRE

Located about two miles north of Dixie, Idaho with fire behavior as extreme with crowning, wind-driven runs and long-range spotting. Containment is 17%. About 12,830 acres of timber litter and understory has been destroyed.

Cost-to-date has reached $1.1 Million Dollars for fire suppression and containment expenses.

JUMBO FIRE

Located about eight miles north of Dixie, this lighting sparked fire has burned about 1,387 acres.

Incident Cooperators include Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest, Idaho County Sheriff Departmen. =
