STEVENS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

A wildfire is burning on Sherwood Loop, about two miles northeast of Wellpinit, Washington State that ignited from an unknown cause on the Spokane Reservation Wednesday, July 21, 2021.

Initial fire attack was conducted by the Spokane Tribe of Indians and WA DNR. A Type 3 IMT arrived on-scene on Thursday, July 22, 2021 around 0600 hours PT.

Resources dispatched: AA4TS/653 AR 25 AR 7402 AR 7403 AR 7405 FB 212 FB 244 HB 170CB HT 286 SPA 12 SPA 3 SPA 61.

The fire has consumed about 375 acres of timber and understory. It has been 30% contained.

About 50 fire personnel and resources are working tirelessly on this incident.
