Friday Update – August 27, 2021

The Chickadee Creek Fire is located 16 miles northwest of Tonasket, which has burned about 5,199 acres of timber and light slash is now 15% contained.

It was sparked by an unknown cause on August 4, 2021.

Fire behavior is moderate with flanking, backing and single tree torching.

This fire incident along with the Walker Creek Fire are being managed by the WA DNR’s northwest Region NW Team 12, an Type 2 IMT.

There are about 222 total personnel with six crews and eight engines.

Total Cost-to-date has reached $4 Million Dollars.
