Friday Update – August 27, 2021
The Ford Corkscrew Fire is located about 11 miles south of Springdale, Washington State on lands owned/managed by the State’s Department of Natural Resources in the Northeast Region.
CORRECTION | Sunday, August 29, 2021. Name should be Ford not Fork.

A more pinpointed location is in the Scott’s Valley or Rail Canyon, between Tumtum and Ford, just south towards Corkscrew Canyon.
The cause is unknown and under investigation.
About 15,782 acres have been destroyed. Fire resources have reached a 91% containment status.
Fire behavior has been reduced from active down to minimal, flanking, backing and creeping. Estimated containment is expected for Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
There are about 296 total personnel along with seven crews, 19 engines and no aircraft.

The total costs-to-date for fire suppression and containment efforts have $6.9 Million Dollars.
