The WELLS 2 FIRE started on Sunday afternoon at 1400 hours CDT off of FM 440, east of Holliday in Archer County, TX. The fire started from an unknown source and began to spread rapidly into heavy brush and made a push for US Hwy 277.
Currently, the fire has burned 500 acres and resources have reached a 50% containment status.
The Incident Commander is Regan Reser with the Texas A&M Forest Service, which is in Unified Command with local fire agency partners.
Current weather conditions are low RH and high winds, which have been challenging to firefighters and Fire Officials.
