The DEEP DRAW FIRE was reported to the NIFC as a new wildland fire in the last 24 hours. This fire is located about 10 miles east of Bridger, Montana started around 2000 hours on Friday, August 12, 2022, from an unknown cause, however, recent thunderstorms did pass over and assisted with increasing fire behavior in the last few days.

It is burning in rugged terrain west of the Pryor Mountain area near the Carbon and Big Horn County line.

There have been about 500 acres of timber and brush destroyed. A 0% containment status is listed for this wildfire.

It is under the management of the BIA’s Crow Agency.

Active fire behavior with group torching, short crown runs, and spotting have been observed and reported.

AT this time, there is 134 total personnel alongside four crews and 20 engines.
