INCIDENT SUMMARY

Location

The MILL FIRE is located off of Woodridge Court and Woodridge Way, about one mile northeast of Weed (Siskiyou County), California.

Date/Time Started

The fire started on September 2, 2022, around 1249 hours PT.

Cause

The cause is unknown at the time of this update but Fire Investigators are actively investigating.

RESOURCES

Fire

There are currently 100 engines, 11 dozers, 38 water tenders, and 22 crews along with 827 total CAL FIRE personnel.

CURRENT STATUS

Size Up: The wildfire has burned about 4,254 acres and CAL FIRE Officials are reporting it has a 25% containment status.

Fire behavior has been reduced to minimal observed, along with smoldering, creeping, and backing.

Evacuations are in effect: https://www.co.siskiyou.ca.us/sheriff – Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office.

DAMAGE ASSESSMENTS

Lincoln Heights

The housing community suffered a big loss as multiple houses were damaged and destroyed.

One neighbor, unsure if it is this one, was said to have been leveled by the fast-moving wildfire as it gobbled up everything in its path.

Cost-to-Date

$1 Million.
