INCIDENT SUMMARY

The BORDER 32 FIRE is located off of Barret Lake Road and Hwy 94, about one mile northeast of Barret Lake and west of Potrero (San Diego County), California.

The fire started on August 31, 2022, from an unknown cause that is under investigation.

About 4,438 acres have been burned.

Fire personnel have reached an 80% containment status.

Mild fire activity today gave firefighters an opportunity to mop up hot spots and build containment lines around the fire. Firefighters will continue reinforcing the containment line through the evening.

Evacuation orders have all been lifted.

DAMAGE ASSESSMENT

There have been 16 structures destroyed.
