The MOUNTAIN FIRE is located on Gazelle-Callahan Road, east of Gazelle Mountain, and southeast of Gazell near Etna (Siskiyou County), California.
The wildfire ignited on September 2, 2022, just after 1800 hours (1801) PT.
The cause is unknown and under investigation.

STOP by the Yreka shelter (Karuk Wellness Center in Yreka) to meet with disaster health volunteers to replace lost/forgotten medical items. DO NOT return to the evacuated areas!

Fire behavior has been observed as active with uphill runs, flanking, and short crown runs.
Structures are threatened and evacuations are in effect.
