The 97 FIRE is located on Quarry Road and Quarry Lance, between the Community of Lake Shastina and Hwy 97 in California.
The fire ignited on September 27, 2022, around 0854 hours PT.
The Lead Fire Agency is CAL FIRE Siskiyou Unit.
The fire has burned 30 acres of grass and brush and has a 45% containment status.
According to CAL FIRE, firefighters continue to strengthen control lines and mop up all hot spots. The cause remains under investigation. Evacuation Orders and Warnings remain in place.
The forward progression of the fire was stopped on Tuesday, September 28, 2022, at 2052 hours PT.
All previous evacuation orders and warnings have been lifted.
