0940: Today, the NAKIA CREEK FIRE has minimal fire behavior with some smoldering being observed by firefighters and Officials. There have been 1,918 acres of timber, medium slash, and brush destroyed. There is now a 77% containment status achieved.

Approximately 49 total personnel remain along with three engines. The Lead Fire Agency is the Oregon Department of Forestry, with the Incident Commander, Matt Howard at the helm of this incident.

CTD: $6 Million.

10/17/2022, Monday

1330: According to Inciweb, there have been 1,565 acres consumed with a 5% containment status. Evacuations are in effect. Due to fast-moving updates on evacuations, folks are being directed to the 911 center site here—> http://cresa911.org/blog Unified Command with the Clark Regional Emergency Services and WA DNR Fire. Structure in effect for the areas located in acres well and Livingston Mountain. Planned Fire ops include constructing direct control lines and assessing the response for the head of the fire, plus spot fires.

0945: The Fire has burned 156 acres today and has reached a 20% containment status. This fire started on 10/9/2022 from a human-caused source. 97 total personnel are currently assigned.

1905: 250 acres of grass, shrubs, timber, and reproduction have now been burned. Updated evacuation and shelter info is listed below.

1335: CTD: $1 Million. 135 total personnel along with 2 crews and 8 engines according to another fire source.

1310: 156 acres. 20% contained. Burning in the extremely steep ground. WA DNR Fire Officials: “Firefighters are preparing direct control lines along the flanks of the fire. Fire behavior has been smoldering and creeping with some torching observed and short-range spotting. The potential for fire growth remains and containment lines are being put in place. ” 97 total personnel are assigned. The expected containment date has been scheduled for Monday, 10/31/2022. Fire fuels: timber, medium logging slash, and brush.

2111: WA DNR 580 Crew, 585 Crew, 588 Crew, Bortner Estes Hareloo Hubbard Stigall Sund Swerin Wallmow M dispatched at 1545 hours PT. 250 acres of grass, shrubs, timber, and reproduction scorched.

1500: The Nakia Creek Fire is located about 9 miles northeast of Camas (Clark County), near Larch Mountain in Washington State. This human-caused fire started on private lands and quickly spread to State-owned lands now in the Larch Block of the Yacolt Burn State Forest. There have been 156 acres of timber burned and has a 10% containment status. Crews are working on mopping up with their goal to reach 100 ft from the fire perimeter.
