CALIFORNIA – Several areas have been impacted by Wildfires, incidents, and upcoming events this week.

For citizens who would like to pay their respects to retired Fire Captain Curtiss Tate, who passed away on January 26, 2023, his family extends the invitation to attend his memorial service to be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 1100 hours PT. It will occur at the Evans Brown Mortuary at 27010 Encanto Drive in Menifee, California.

The burial will occur at a different location and is by invitation only.

FLAT FIREIncident #MDF-50 PSHC

The FLAT FIRE was located in the Newell area, which prompted personnel and resources to be dispatched through the Modoc Interagency Communications Center on February 15, 2023, at 0619 hours PT.

Firefighters were able to quickly to stop the forward progression of the fire and hold it at less than one acre. It was put out at 0911 hours PT.

BUSH ON FIRE

A reported bush on fire in Stockton was reported on February 16, 2023, at 2032 hours PT. No word on the cause or further information was given.

SMOKE CHECKS

FOREST GLENIncident #SHF-157

Resources were dispatched to the area about one mile east of Forest Glen which responded on February 16, 2023, at 1643 hours PT for a smoke check. No further information is listed. Dispatch Center was the Redding Interagency Command Center.

FIRE CALLS

HAZMAT CALL – AMAZON IC

Firefighters from CAL FIRE / Riverside County FD personnel were dispatched to a HAZMAT call in the 36000 block of West 4th Street in Beaumont at 1640 hours PT. This is a commercial warehouse with a total of six patients with mild symptoms. All of the patients were transported to area hospitals. The HAZMAT unit made a successful entry into the interior and assessed the product to be fiberglass and glass used in the manufacturing of BBQs and fireplaces. The hazard has been cleared and the HAZMAT unit has gone back into service (2144 hours PT).

COMMERCIAL FIRE CALL – HACIENDA IC

A commercial structure fire broke out in Banning around 0828 hours on February 14th in the 1200 block of Ramsey Street. Firefighters first due on the scene were greeted with light smoke visible from the vacant two-story hotel building. The active fire was located in the wall and was busy with checking for an extension. During the initial assessment, two additional engines were requested. Firefighters quickly egressed and were able to contain the fire at 0904 hours PT. They remained on the scene for additional two hours for overhaul operations.

FIRE CALL – SW JUVENILE HALL BLDG C

CAL Firefighters / Riverside County FD was dispatched to the Southwest Juvenile Hall Bldg. C in Murrieta for a fire call at 2125 hours PT. This is an open and pending call. Source: https://www.rvcfire.org/incidents

A resource order was dispatched through the Redding Interagency Command Center at 1620 hours PT to staff up and to respond to Homestead, Florida.

Four total resources listed under Incident #CAMDF-51 (0744 PT), CAMDF-52 WFSE4423 and CAMDF-53 WFSE4423 (1151 PT), and two final Incident Numbers CAMDF-54 WFSE4423 and CAMFD-55 WFSE4423 (1152 PT) were dispatched through the Modoc Interagency Coordination Center on February 154, 2023.

PUBLIC ASSISTANCE / SAFETY CALLS

HUNTINGTON LAKE – Incident #SNF-101

Snow vehicles were said to be stuck in the Huntington Lake area, causing the Sierra National Forest Communications Center to dispatch resources to the location for assistance at 1220 hours P on February 16, 2023.

POWER OUTAGE – Incident #SNF-100

A power outage occurred in the Sierra National Forest and resources were dispatched through the Communications Center at 1117 hours on February 16, 2023.
